Swedish publisher Bonnier Corp. has acquired Working Mother Media from MCG Capital and founder Carol Evans. In addition to publishing the Working Mother magazine, the company publishes research like 100 Best Companies for working mothers. Bonnier already publishes Parenting and Baby Talk.

Everyone, by now, is familiar with Radiohead's no-label, direct-to-fan experiment last year. But a growing number of operators is playing with different interpretations of a thesis that's been around as long as the internet - that the label nowadays is an anachronism, and that bands can finance and release music for themselves…

MySpace's long-awaited music music store is going live tonight at 9:00 PM PT/12:00 AM ET. EMI, the last major holdout among the major labels is now on board, as is major indy The Orchard (NSDQ: ORCD). Because EMI only signed on at the last second, the label's entire catalog will not be available tonight, says SAI's Peter Kafka.  MySpace Music, owned by News Corp.

And to think what they could've gotten from Microsoft… Yahoo (NSDQ: YHOO), whose stock continues to languish, has hired Bain & Co. to help it "(explore) ways to streamline our processes and bring new agility and efficiency to how we work as an organization." in the words of spokesman Brad Williams, who spoke to Bloomberg.

It looks like perpetually almost-for-sale social news site Digg is going to stay solo for awhile… The SF-based company has just announced a big, $28.7 million third round led by Highland Capital Partners. The company has now raised $40 million, having last raised $8.5 million in late 2006. The current round includes past backers Greylock Partners, Omidyar Network and SVB Capital.

[In progress] Yahoo (NSDQ: YHOO) unveiled its new ad targeting solution as "a seminal event" and a "tranformative development" in online advertising. Seeking to tie the new product to the time when TV went from black and white to color, Jon Hamm, who plays "Don Draper" on AMC's Mad Men, was picked to emcee the event.

Business social networking software firm Telligent has received a big $20 million from Intel Capital, the venture arm of Intel (NSDQ: INTC). The Dallas, TX-based company has completed an initial tranche with Intel, with the remainder of its stake to be acquired within 12 months subject to certain closing conditions.
