New York Post
Did you hear? Laura Bush got an $8 million advance to write about life in the White House! Or maybe that's a $3.5 million advance. Or $1.6 million. Do I hear $1 million even?
In its initial report on the First Lady's deal with Scribner to publish a memoir in 2010, the Associated Press, citing no sources, guesstimated that the contract "would likely be worth at least as much as Hillary Clinton's $8 million for the memoir Living History."
It's business as usual at The Players Club -- and you know what that means.
Former New York Met Lenny Dykstra, who's been frequently accused of not honoring his obligations, told the New York Post last week that he was bringing on Loren Feldman, a former editor in chief of Philadelphia magazine, as the new editor of his lifestyle magazine for pro athletes.
Or so I gather from this story in the New York Post: "NBC Silver Bullet: Zucker Wants to Keep on Successful Silverman."
The money quote: "[P]erhaps the biggest reason Silverman is likely to stay at NBC is because sources say Zucker sees a lot of himself in Silverman." Hard to argue with that.
Earlier: It's Time to Fire Ben Silverman.

It's time once again for Time's reliable marketing ploy-slash-water cooler time waster, its annual selection of the "Person of the Year." But, as the New York Post notes, this year's guessing game carries approximately zero suspense. For starters, a new president can usually count on being the POY, provided he's more exciting than George H.W. Bush.
Hey, you know what would be a great article? Something about how comedians might find it hard to make jokes about Barack Obama.
What's that you say? Someone's already written that piece?
"I am so not a Wendy," Wenda Harris Millard, co-CEO of Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia (NYSE: MSO), declared, picking up on an audience member's incorrect reference to her as "Wendy" in the Q&A portion of her interview at ContentNext's EconWomen conference.
